Bond Ruggles is a Spring 2021 Master’s graduate of the College of Charleston. She was invited back as a Teaching Fellow for the 2021-2022 academic year. Her area of focus is United States History with a particular love of social history at the intersections of gender, sexuality, mass consumerism, and the supernatural. Her permanent home is in New Orleans which allowed her to focus her Master’s thesis on the historic red-light district of Storyville. The thesis, “Madams, Pimps, and Prostitutes’ Agency in New Orleans 1850-1920” is currently published on ProQuest. When not teaching, Bond is co-founder and historian for a tour company in New Orleans where she curates, researches, and develops the company’s walking tours in the French Quarter. She hopes to pursue a PhD next academic year.
