Jennifer L. Welsh received her Ph.D. in History from Duke University in 2009. Her disseration is entitled "Mother, Matron, Matriarch:  Sanctity and Social Change in the Cult of St. Anne, 1450-1750." Dr. Welsh comes to the College of Charleston from Davidson College. She was awarded a 2010 NEH Summer Institute Grant, "The Silk Roads: Early Globalization and Chinese Cultural Identity."
